Acting Under Secretary of the Navy Gregory J. Slavonic presents the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Meritorious Group Commendation to Amy Murphy, a special agent with the NCIS Marine Corps West Field Office, during an awards ceremony at Marine Memorial Golf Course on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Oct. 27, 2020. Members of NCIS and the Camp Pendleton Fire Department received various awards during the ceremony, including CPFD being recognized as the Department of Defense’s Large Fire Department of the Year for 2019. Slavonic traveled to Southern California to meet with sailors and Marines, gaining enhanced insight to fleet modernization, cyber and readiness efforts that will ultimately build a more lethal force.
