The SORS equipment is a vital asset to the Coast Guard's Marine Environmental Protection mission and includes booms to sweep oil into a skimmer. Arctic Edge is a U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Coast Guard, state, local and tribal exercise designed to test the SORS in the waters surrounding the Arctic regions of Alaska.
