KINGS BAY, Ga. (Oct. 16, 2020) Cmdr. Jay Bijeau, outgoing commanding officer, USS West Virginia (SSBN 736) (Gold), salutes the sideboys during the change of command ceremony held at the World War II memorial onboard Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia. Bijeau is relieved by Cmdr. Erek Kasse. West Virginia is one of six ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base and is capable of carrying up to 20 submarine-launched ballistic missiles with multiple warheads.
