Carr, a motor vehicle operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 8, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, sweeps for mines and improvised explosive devices during a field training exercise aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 1, 2012. Carr and his fellow troops participated in an IED training lane where they practiced sweeping techniques and how to find the explosives hidden underground. The troops are training in preparation for their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
