Sgt. Bryan N. Butts, a motor vehicle operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 8, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, provides security as his troops recover a simulated casualty after their truck hit a simulated improvised explosive device during a field training exercise aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 1, 2012. Servicemembers with the battalion had to endure many situations during the week-long exercise such as firefights, explosions and casualty evacuations as part of their pre-deployment training. The troops are preparing for their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
