U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Kasey Dimatteo, a Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear defense specialist with Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division (MARDIV), places caution signs around a simulated hazardous area during an Enhanced Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (ECBRN) course on Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 6, 2020. Marines with 1st MAW, 3rd MARDIV, and 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), participating in the ECBRN course were evaluated on their ability to conduct Small Site Exploration practical application while wearing Hazardous Material suits, attending to casualties, and collecting samples for laboratory testing. Corcoran, Syracuse, New York native, graduated from Baldwinsville Central High School in 2019, and was recruited out of Recruiting Station Syracuse in 2019. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
