U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. David Flores III, a Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear defense specialist with Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), assesses a notional casualty during an Enhanced Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (ECBRN) course on Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 6, 2020. Marines with 1st MAW, 3rd Marine Division, and 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), participating in the ECBRN course were evaluated on their ability to conduct Small Site Exploration while wearing Hazardous Material suits, attending to casualties, and collecting samples for laboratory testing. Flores, a Corpus Christi, Texas native, graduated from Richard King High School in 2017, and was recruited out of Recruiting Station Corpus Christi in 2017. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
