A UEI is part of the overall Commander’s Inspection Program, which emphasizes self-assessment and focuses on four Major Graded Areas: Executing the Mission, Managing Resources, Leading People and Improving the Unit. The UEI program is an ongoing inspection process culminating in a capstone inspection every four years. The midpoint occurs approximately 24 months prior to the capstone.
