USS Ralph Johnson Celebrates 114 Days Since the Beginning of Deployment

201001-N-FP334-1033 ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 1, 2020) Chief Sonar Technician (Surface) Jeffery Dalerio (right), from Fresno, Calif., and Culinary Specialist Seaman Recruit Kyle Seon (left), from Raleigh, N.C., both assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114), cut a cake during a "114 Day" celebration on the mess decks. The event represents the number of days underway on the ship’s maiden deployment and coincides with the Ralph Johnson’s hull number. Ralph Johnson is part of Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
