Cpl. Brent Stephens with 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, 3d Marine Division, carries targets down range 113 to prepare zeroing M110 M40A6 sniper rifles during Service Level Training Exercise (SLTE) 1-21 aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif. Sept. 28, 2020. 3d Reconnaissance Battalion is attached to 4th Marine Regiment for the duration of SLTE 1-21. This is an exercise designed to provide realistic and challenging training at every level of the Marine Corps to better prepare Marines to operate against future threats. Due to high heat index and inevitable moisture build up during outdoor activity, the efficacy of the masks as a barrier are greatly reduced. Thus, Marines are not required to wear masks during these training events.
