Wayne Coulson, chief executive officer of Coulson Group, speaks during a press conference, Sept. 30, 2020, at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California, to announce a civilian CH-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter owned and operated by his company, Coulson Aviation, Inc., will stage on the installation’s airfield through the end of the year for wildfire response missions in Southern California. The helicopter, which is hailed as the world’s largest helitanker due to its ability to drop 3,000 gallons of water or retardant in a single pass, is staging on the base for 24/7 wildfire response in Southern California through the end of the year.
