PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 27, 2020) Capt. Arthur Sakamoto, a pilot with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 262 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) from Austin, Texas, and Cpl. Kyle Daly, a crew chief with VMM-262 (REIN), from Anaheim, California, prepare an MV-22B Osprey for takeoff from amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America, flagship of Expeditionary Strike Group Seven (ESG 7), along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
