YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 29, 2020) - Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Aaron Harris, from Waverly, Ohio, uses a needle gun on the deck of the aft phalanx close-in weapons system (CIWS) magazine of the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Preventive maintenance is vital in ensuring the infrastructure of the ship is deployment ready. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
