U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Ronald J. Joseph Jr., a pianist and administrative clerk with the 2d Marine Division (MARDIV) Band, poses for a photograph in the 2d MARDIV Band Hall on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sep. 11, 2020. Joseph, a native of Saint Rose, Louisiana, was nominated as the 2d MARDIV Motivator of the Week for his exemplary and diligent work in multiple areas of the band. In addition to his primary duty of being a piano instrumentalist, Joseph supports the percussion section and various small ensembles while maintaining his responsibilities as an administrative chief. His extensive musical background includes a master’s degree in piano performance, premier accompanying experience, and teaching. “I’ve been a musician all my life, but being a Marine musician is a different level of honor. Everyday I train and serve alongside my brothers and sisters in arms, joining a rich tradition of Marine musicians,” said Joseph.
