U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Isaias Bustamante, a water purification specialist with Engineer Support Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB), 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), sets up a water purifier during a logistics exercise on Kin Red, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 23, 2020. During the exercise, Combat Logistics Regiment 3 and 9th ESB conducted Okinawa-based logistics training to hone critical capabilities and practice dispersed command and control while providing support to III Marine Expeditionary Force units throughout Okinawa. Bustamante, a native of Alpine, Texas, graduated from Legacy High School in 2018 and enlisted out of Recruiting Station Georgetown in 2019. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
