U.S. Marines with Engineer Support Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB), 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), move and organize gear for loading onto a Landing Craft Utility vessel during a logistics exercise on Kin Red, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 23, 2020. During the exercise, Combat Logistics Regiment 3 and 9th ESB conducted Okinawa-based logistics training to hone critical capabilities and practice dispersed command and control while providing support to III Marine Expeditionary Force units throughout Okinawa. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
