U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force – Europe 20.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, participate in a culminating physical training session during an Advanced Infantry Marine Preparatory Course in Bardufoss, Norway, Sept. 18, 2020. The course provided instruction through informal lectures, practical application, and a three-day field exercise designed to develop future small unit leaders. The Marines have practiced strict COVID-19 mitigations when interacting with those outside their unit as an extended precaution after their initial restriction of movement period at the beginning of the deployment. MRF-E conducts various exercises including arctic cold-weather and mountain-warfare training, as well as military-to-military engagements throughout Europe that enhance cooperation among partners and allies.
