JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Sept. 22, 2020) – Michelle Kincaid, a mammography technologist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, assists a patient during a mammogram. Kincaid, a native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, says, “A mammogram exam is quick, efficient, and lifesaving. I enjoy explaining the importance of mammograms. It's a good feeling, knowing that I might have helped catch something in an early stage.” Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it’s easier to treat and before it’s big enough to feel. Starting at age 40, talk with your primary care manager about when to start and how often to get a mammogram. You have the choice to get an annual mammogram at age 40 and up.
