U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jeremy Grannon, a Maryland Air National Guard Crew Chief, deployed to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, marshals in an A-10C Fighter Jet for munitions disarming after a mission. The A-10C's are assigned to the 104th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, which is made up primarily of the Maryland Air National Guard. They are the first unit to use the new C-model A-10 in a combat zone. Its upgrades have made air power much more efficient and have streamlined the close air support mission.
