A rainbow appears as a static F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft is towed from the N.D. Air National Guard Base, Fargo, N.D., across the flight line to a temporary position at the Fargo Air Museum on Sept. 4, 2020. The aircraft has the tail number of the 119th Fighter Wing F-16 that was among the first on scene in the sky over Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001, following terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, New York, N.Y. A painting of the 119th Fighter Wing F-16 called 'First Pass, Defenders Over Washington,' by artist Rick Herter is on display in corridor 9 of the Pentagon. The 119th Wing began flying combat air patrol (CAP) missions that day from their alert detachment at Langley Air Force Base, Va. and continued flying them for many months following the attacks.
