    Regimental Combat Team-5

Khan Neshin district governor Shah Mahmood presents a gift to U.S. Marine Col. Roger B. Turner Jr., the commanding officer of Regimental Combat Team 5, here, June 29, 2012. Turner and his staff conducted their final battlefield circulation of Marjah, Nawa, Garmsir and Khan Neshin districts, observing the progress made by Afghan security forces and the district governments over the last year. Marines and sailors of RCT-5 led subordinate units as they conducted counterinsurgency operations throughout southern Helmand, during their yearlong deployment. The “Fighting Fifth” is slated to return to Camp Pendleton, Calif., in August 2012.
