    U.S. Marine Cpl. Riley Dobbs, a squad leader with Weapons Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and 21-year-old native of Flushing, Mich., shares a smile with locals during a census patrol through a village here, March 22, 2012. The patrol was one of many missions the platoon conducted during their deployment to southern Helmand, October 2011 to April 2012. Marines and sailors of 1st LAR conducted counterinsurgency operations under the leadership of Regimental Combat Team 5, during their seven-month deployment in Khan Neshin district.
