    USS Carl Vinson

200820-N-OL611-1014 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 26, 2020) Sailors assigned to Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) use a fire hose to spread a soap and water mixture to clean up after testing of the ship’s aqueous film forming foam distribution system on the ship’s flight deck. Vinson is en route to San Diego after completing a 17-month scheduled docking planned incremental availability in Bremerton, Washington, during which the ship underwent a complete restoration and a system retrofit to accommodate F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter mission capabilities.
