Brig. Gen. Orlando Salinas, deputy commanding general, U.S. Army South presents eleven retiring soldiers with awards during the Fort Sam Houston retirement ceremony held, July 26, at the Quadrangle. Salinas spoke to the retiring soldiers and their family about their dedication to service and the need to be ambassadors in their communities, telling their Army story to try and make a difference in their surrounding communities. "Every soldier wants to know that at the end of the journey, they completed their mission; so today I tell you, job well done; it's time to take off the ruck and start our lives," said Salinas.
