Two Dominican physicians and third year medical residents working with the U.S. Army Medical Command and U.S. Army South-planned medical readiness and training exercise prepares a Dominican child for eye surgery July 23. The MEDRETE is led by a medical team mainly from Madigan Health Care System, at Fort Lewis, Wash. July 10-27 at the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The team conducted more than 350 eye surgeries on adults and children.
