A Dominican Army physician and third year medical resident, working with the U.S. Army Medical Command and U.S. Army South-planned medical readiness and training exercise discusses an eye surgery procedure with a Dominican mother and her daughter July 23. The MEDRETE is led by a medical team mainly from Madigan Health Care System, at Fort Lewis, Wash. July 10-27 at the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The team comprised of U.S. and Dominican medical personnel conducted more than 350 eye surgeries for adults and children.
