A Dominican citizen receives an anesthesic injection in his eye prior to his cataract surgery during a U.S. Army Medical Command and U.S. Army South-planned medical readiness and training exercise at the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces in Santo Domingo, July 23. The MEDRETE is led by a medical team mainly from Madigan Health Care System, at Fort Lewis, Wash., July 10-27, on behalf of Army South and U.S Southern Command. The team conducted more than 350 eye surgeries.
