An Air Commando assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing uses a survival radio during combat survival training at Eglin Range, Florida, Aug. 13, 2020. During the combat survival training class, students worked directly with 1st SOW and 919th SOW aircraft to assist their personnel recovery force, 23rd Special Tactics Squadron operators, on their exact location. Combat survival training ensures personnel maintain critical skills gained at formal survival, evasion, resistance and escape training courses, while in a simulated combat environment.
