Lance Cpl. Andrew Vaughn, a Barnwell, S.C., native, and rifleman with Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, checks a bedroom for simulated improvised explosive devices and other weapons during tactical site exploitation, or TSE, training at Udairi Range in Kuwait, July 20, 2012. Marines conduct site exploitation to uncover intelligence and evidence that may be useful for follow-on operations. A contingent of 24th MEU Marines is conducting a variety of sustainment training exercises in Kuwait to keep their war fighting skills sharp while deployed. The 24th MEU is deployed with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
