    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

Cpl. David Stevens, an intelligence surveillance reconnaissance systems engineer with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and resident of Kailua, Hawaii, conducts aerial electronic surveillance over Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, in a UH-1Y Venom helicopter with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (reinforced), August 4, 2020. The exercise made use of the Intrepid Tiger II (V)3 Electronic Warfare pod, a network-enabled family of systems that can perform electronic attack, electronic support, and direction finding. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. The 31st MEU has implemented strict health protection measures and will continue to conduct mission essential training in support of regional security and stability. Stevens graduated from T.R. Robinson High School in 2016 and enlisted through Recruiting Substation Honolulu. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Brandon Salas)
