PACIFIC OCEAN (July 28, 2020) – Secretary of the Navy Kenneth J. Braithwaite speaks with U.S. Marine Corps Col. Christopher Bronzi, commanding officer of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, right, and Maj. Daniel Davis, intelligence officer with the 15th MEU, during his visit to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) in the eastern Pacific. The Secretary of the Navy, Commandant of the Marine Corps, Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, and distinguished guests visited the Makin Island to observe flight and amphibious operations. This trip, Braithwaite's first trip to San Diego as Secretary, included engagements with Marines, Sailors and civilians and visits to a number of naval platforms including surface, subsurface, and aviation units.
