PACIFIC OCEAN (July 28, 2020) – Secretary of the Navy Kenneth J. Braithwaite speaks with Marines and Sailors with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit during his visit to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) in the eastern Pacific. The Secretary of the Navy, Commandant of the Marine Corps, Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, and distinguished guests visited the Makin Island to observe flight and amphibious operations. This trip, Braithwaite's first trip to San Diego as Secretary, included engagements with Marines, Sailors and civilians and visits to a number of naval platforms including surface, subsurface, and aviation units.
