U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Nicolas Winegardner, an assistant squad leader with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3rd MLG), measures a fuse cord at Demo Range 2, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, July 7, 2020. Measuring fuse cord allows the Marines to accurately gauge the time between the ignition of the cord and detonation of the explosive. Winegardner, a native of Vancouver, Washington, graduated from Union High School in 2015 and enlisted out of Recruiting Station Vancouver in 2015. 3rd MLG provides III Marine Expeditionary Force comprehensive logistics and combat service support for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
