The seawall was damaged during Hurricane Florence in 2018, and helps maintain the stability of the houses in their current locations. The MCICOM's visit to MCAS Cherry Point was a progress review of the installation's efforts to address housing shortfalls in accordance with National Defense Authorization Act and military construction projects aimed at enhancing the installation’s readiness capability.
