Army Staff Sgt. Eric Thomas, an observer controller trainer from the Joint Interagency Training and Education Center, provides a lesson on shoring to combat engineers with the 1st Platoon, 118th Sapper Company, 1457th Engineer Battalion, 204th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade of the Utah National Guard, during their two-week training in Magna, Utah, July 16, 2012. Shoring is the stabilization of fallen structures using constructed headers, soleplates and posts.
