U.S. Army Spc. Bryan Heaston, 30, of Lusby, Md., observes the Afghan countryside from a UH-60 Black Hawk medevac helicopter July 8. Heaston, a medevac crew chief, is on his first deployment, currently working on Forward Operating Base Shank, supporting Task Force Corsair, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade. "When we fly a mission," said Heaston, "that means someone's not doing well. A perfect deployment would be no missions."
