Col. Shannon Smith, 124th Fighter Wing commander, discusses the wing's capabilities with Gen. David L. Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, at Gowen Field on June 19, 2020. Gen. Goldfein visited Mountain Home Air Force Base, Gowen Field’s 124th Fighter Wing and toured the vast training space of the Idaho Army National Guard’s Orchard Combat Training Center while flying in the UH-60 Black Hawk. The purpose of his visit to Idaho was to gain an overview of Idaho forces' COVID-19 response and recovery, and to learn about Idaho's joint mission capabilities.
