Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) celebrate the 122nd birthday of the Hospital Corps on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, June 17, 2020. The Hospital Corpsman birthday was established in 1898; it is a long standing tradition that celebrates corpsmen and their enduring relationship with Marines throughout history. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
