CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti June 7, 2020 - U.S. Army Gen. Stephen J. Townsend, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), left, greets U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Lapthe C. Flora, incoming commanding general of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), with a socially-distant elbow bump upon his arrival at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti (CLDJ) on June 7, 2020. Townsend visited CLDJ to officiate the June 8, CJTF-HOA change of command ceremony, transferring authority from U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Michael D. Turello, the outgoing commanding general, to Flora. During the visit, Townsend also met with several senior Djiboutian government officials, including holding his first meeting with Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh.
