Hospital commander Col. Patrick T. Birchfield applies a cloth face covering before meeting with members of his team. Department of Defense policy requires all individuals on DoD property, installations, and facilities to wear cloth face coverings when they cannot maintain six feet of social distance in public areas or work centers. Because medical appointments require patients and staff to closely interact, Birchfield said beneficiaries should bring a cloth face covering when visiting the hospital, pharmacies or outlying clinics. Some exceptions may apply to include young children and medical necessity. U.S. Army photo by Maria Yager.
