An Aerospace Medical Technician from the 148th Fighter Wing prepares supplies for COVID-19 testing. Every airmen from the 148th Fighter Wing, Minnesota Air National Guard, will receive COVID-19 tests prior to being released from State Active Duty. The 148th Fighter Wing was mobilized in support of Minnesota’s Executive Order 20-64 which activated the Minnesota National Guard and declared a peacetime emergency to provide safety and protection to the people of Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding communities. On May 30, 2020, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz fully activated the Minnesota National Guard; by May 31, 2020, 7,000 Minnesota National Guardsmen were activated. This was the largest domestic deployment in the Minnesota National Guard’s 164-year history.
