Defense Department Support to FEMA COVID-19

U.S. Army Soldiers, assigned to the Unified Command Javits, relocate hospital beds within the Javits Center in New York City, May 29, 2020. Military medical personnel collaborate as an integrated system in support of the New York City medical system, as part of the Department of Defense COVID-19 response. The Department of Defense will transition its tasks of life saving and sustaining, and the reduction of immediate threats to public health, to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other federal, state, and local agencies as they continue to conduct recovery and mitigation. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
