PFC Jaylin Brown
"Well born and raised in Austin Texas, the oldest of five siblings and I just love what I do, honestly. On the civilian side, I’m a security supervisor.
My MOS (military occupation specialty) is 12 Romero, for those that don’t know, it’s an interior electrician. That entails reading electrical plans and we are wiring up building. If we go overseas, we would be the ones putting up generators, each tent gets the light and power that they need.
On this mission we are traveling all across Texas and we sanitizing nursing homes maybe a couple of hospitals were patients have been.
How I got onto this mission is by my Sergeant calling me and asked if I wanted to come on this mission and I said ‘yea, definitely’
Personally, I love what I do. From flood missions, and to this, just being able to help people is something that I’ve always longed for and I love to do.
I was a part of the Hurricane Irma mission that happened in 2019 in Beaumont."

I truly loved the motivation of this Soldier. You could see it right away how his eyes lit up at the opportunity to be apart of this team. A young man, destined to lead from the front and never back down from a challenge. I saw the future of the Army in his posture, his strong voice and overall positive attitude. He took this opportunity with great pride and saw it as a way to help people, something he always longed for. (U.S. Army Photo by Capt. Leyda Ocasio-Kanzler)
