Portland, Ore. May 27, 2020 – FEMA has helped address an increase in food bank demand through a grant for food purchases and distribution, which helps the Oregon Food Bank distribute boxes of fresh food. The boxes, provided by the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box program, is part of the whole of government response to the COVID-19 pandemic where food that would normally be purchased by restaurants or other food service businesses is instead bought by the U.S. Government and distributed to food banks. - Yost / FEMA
