U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-35 Lightning II aircraft assigned to the 354th Fighter Wing flew over Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and the downtown Fairbanks, Alaska, area to honor frontline COVID-19 responders and essential workers May 15, 2020. The flyover is part of the “Air Force Salutes” initiative designed to show appreciation to the countless heroes around the world battling the pandemic and celebrates the bond between Eielson Air Force Base and the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
