On July 7, 1976, the U.S. Military Academy welcomed 1,452 new cadets on Reception Day, including 119 women marking the first time women enrolled at West Point in the academy's history. Four years later, 62 women would graduate as members of the Class of 1980 becoming the first female members of the Long Gray Line.
