The Rhode Island National Guard (RING) partnered with the University of Rhode Island to send 40 continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machines to be converted to ventilators to the South-Pacific island nation of Timor-Leste and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Wednesday, May 20, 2020. The machines are provided under the cooperative agreement of the National Guard’s State Partnership Program, within which The Bahamas and Timor-Leste are partner nations. The RING has been partnered with The Bahamas since 2005 and is newly partnered with Timor-Leste.
