Sheridyn Rupp, 375th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler poses with her military working dog, Irk, May 12th, 2020, at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. “Working with a K9 has taught me patience,” said Rupp. “If a K9 doesn’t know a task, you take steps at a time to perfect the desired outcome. Then the K9 takes that newly learned skill and transfers it to different tasks throughout its life. It makes it all worth it. I love seeing the work we put in by working with our partners. Irk is my favorite part about work. My best friend. Being one of the oldest dogs in the kennels doesn’t slow him down, he definitely keeps me on my toes.”
