    California National Guard Primary

Los Angeles resident Paulina Hernandez displays a face mask she sewed at home, one similar to what she made for her California National Guard daughter’s unit late in April. Spc. Kimberly Ortiz of Cal Guard’s Alpha Company, 223rd Military Intelligence Battalion, 115th Regional Support Group sought her mom’s help when face masks were unavailable for about two dozen troops. Hernandez gladly obliged, making nearly 100 cloth coverings so that Guardsmen can help slow the spread of COVID-19 while fulfilling their humanitarian missions.
