Defense Department Support to FEMA COVID-19       

Baton Rouge, La., native Col. Jeff Mitchell, state chaplain for the Louisiana National Guard (left), and Aiken, S.C., native Capt. Following the tour, the chaplain hosted a traditional Blessing of the Hands ceremony in honor of Nurses Week that’s held annually from May 6 – 12. EMF-M coordinates closely with state, local, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of their personnel and the local population. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
